HP Tuners Smart Access Cable for RAM EcoDiesel & Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator

The Smart Access Cable is required for many late-model RAM EcoDiesel, Jeep Wrangler EcoDiesel, and Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel applications using HP Tuners. It bypasses the factory security gateway to provide the access needed for supported tuning, scanning, diagnostics, and transmission logging through HP Tuners VCM Suite.

What It Does

• Enables read and write access on supported Stellantis EcoDiesel vehicles

• Allows supported tuning and diagnostic functions through HP Tuners VCM Suite

• Provides access through the vehicle’s factory security gateway

• Required for certain scanning, logging, and special functions

• Required when logging supported ZF8-HP2 transmissions

• Connects while your HP Tuners interface continues to use the factory OBDII port

Supported Vehicle Applications

Designed for supported late-model EcoDiesel applications, including:

• RAM 1500 EcoDiesel

• Jeep Wrangler EcoDiesel

• Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel

• Other supported RAM and Jeep EcoDiesel applications using the Stellantis security gateway

Compatibility depends on the vehicle’s year, model, engine, transmission, PCM, and HP Tuners support status.

• HP Tuners MPVI interface is not included

• HP Tuners software, credits, tune files, and PCM services are sold separately unless specifically included in a bundle

• This cable does not replace an HP Tuners interface

• Some vehicles may also require an unlocked or upgraded PCM before tuning

Basic Installation Overview

1. Disconnect and isolate the vehicle’s negative battery terminal.

2. Locate the factory security gateway module.

3. Remove the wider connector from the security gateway module.

4. Connect the removed factory connector to the Smart Access Cable.

5. Plug the Smart Access Cable into the now-vacant security gateway port.

6. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.

7. Connect your HP Tuners interface through the vehicle’s normal OBDII port.

Installation location and access can vary depending on the vehicle.
